LEGO City still has unbearable load times on Nintendo Switch
LEGO City Undercover is a game all fans want to play, but pesky load times that stretch over a minute are lagging the fun for many Switch users.
One of the hottest gaming machines on the market right now is the Nintendo Switch. Not everyone who wants one has one, but those who do are living it up with games like Pokemon and Zelda.
A game many want to get in on, and one that a significant amount of time was spent creating, is LEGO City Undercover. The game immerses you into exactly what you’d think — a world of LEGO and one that you can utilize the sandbox function with to perfection.
But while the game has a lot going for it, not everything runs smoothly. The biggest and most persistent complaint about LEGO City Undercover is the insanely long load times that are making the game lag for the playing on the Switch.
Chris Carter from Destructoid is one of those users having to deal with the frustration of the painfully long load times.
"Tests have shown that although load times have been cut by roughly 13 seconds on Switch, the game still frequently takes nearly a minute to load. As a note folks are reporting big load times on PS4 and Xbox One, so it seems to be related to optimization."
As Carter points out, this seems to be a universal problem across all platforms but the Switch load issue is the worst of the bunch. There is lagging loads for the PS4 and Xbox One, but not nearly as bad as those times for the Switch.
The game itself seems to be getting very positive reviews, as it has all the charm and action we’ve come to expect from a LEGO game. That being said, the long load times are weighing down an experience that could otherwise be more special than it is at the moment.
