Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 gets the Lego trailer treatment (Video)

The new Guardians of the Galaxy movie has officially been given the Lego trailer treatment, and it’s as cool as you’re hoping.

We are quickly approaching the summer movie season, which means some of the hottest flicks we’ve been looking forward to for years are about to hit. One of the first movies out of the gate this year will be Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the sequel to the surprise hit from two years ago.

It’s a Marvel film in name only, as the spirit of the movie is so much grander than that. It’s something that could very well exist within its own franchise and not be a part of a larger universe. We’re going to get crossover with characters like Iron Man, Captain America (maybe?) and other earthly Avengers, but but for now we can just bask in the greatness of these characters.

Something else we can bask in is the greatness of the Guardians of the Galaxy trailer getting the Lego treatment.

Movies and pop culture things getting the Lego treatment is almost a rite of passage. Only the best of the best are allowed to crossover into the world of bricks, and Guardians seems to be living in that rarified air.

One thing that we can look forward to is the eventual Infinity Wars trailer that will inevitably happen. That’s when the characters from Guardians are expected to crossover in some way with the Avengers, something that is years in the making but will be worth it since we’ve had time to be so invested in these characters. DC and WB should take note of that.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 hits theaters on May 5.
