Joel Embiid’s first statue in Philadelphia is made of Lego

One day they might erect a statue of Joel Embiid in Philadelphia, but it will be second fiddle to the already existing Lego shrine.

Philadelphia 76ers big man and Twitter G.O.A.T. Joel Embiid has had a rough first few seasons in the NBA. While he’s been, for the most part, grounded from flight due to injuries there is faith in ‘The Process’ that he will one day become a basketball savior.

After another knee injury ended his season this year, it’s back to the drawing board with expectations for Embiid. But not everyone is doubling down on the prospect, as some fans continue to believe that the flashes of amazingness we saw while he was healthy this season can translate into long term success.

In fact, there’s already a statue (kind of) honoring Embiid — a bust made out of Lego.

Redditor dweg1999 posted the picture of the Embiid bust and it’s everything we love about the Sixers big man in perfect form. He’s a social media G.O.A.T., winning NBA fans over with his goofy antics on Twitter and sarcastic Millennial attitude that perfectly fits the self-aware hipster snark of Basketball Twitter.

The fact that a Lego bust of Embiid exists might be the most perfect thing ever. He has yet to respond or react to this creation but it’s likely a matter of time before he fully embraces #TrustTheLego on social media — it’s sort of his thing.

Hopefully Embiid can get healthy enough again to dominate the NBA like it appears he’s capable of doing. In the meantime, no one can stop us from erecting busts or statues in the honor of the social media G.O.A.T.
