The Atlanta Braves are playing their first season in a brand new stadium, one that has been christened with a fantastic piece of Lego art.
Eyes rolled this past year when the Braves officially opened up a new ballpark in Atlanta, despite the fact their old ballpark — Turner Field — was exactly 20 years old. That didn’t stop the team from opening up SunTrust Stadium this yea, but not everything about it is worth trolling.
Call us biased, but the Braves swooned us with a Lego sculpture they’re proudly displaying inside the new stadium. This isn’t some small little thing that the Braves have stashed away in a corner of the ballpark. The tomahawk sculpture is hanging on a wall just beyond the front gates, and it’s damn impressive.
It’s worth noting that the Braves have been unable to find a way to win on the diamond this season. Currently sitting in dead last in the NL East, fans can at least appreciate this lego creation as the biggest win of the season so far.
Redditor Little_Napoleon7 passed along a photo of the Lego tomahawk, and it’s just as glorious as you’re probably imagining — if not more.
You don’t even need to be a Braves fan to appreciate the craftsmanship that went into this massive sculpture. It’s quite literally wall art and seems a perfect addition Atlanta’s new stadium.
The only question now is, will the Falcons step up their Lego game and answer with an even more impressive piece of art? That Matt Ryan or Julio Jones statue needs to happen sooner rather than later.
