It appears that Lego might have finally (perhaps accidentally) revealed Luke Skywalker’s The Last Jedi mini figure.
The release of Star Wars The Last Jedi is little over half a year away, which seems like a long time to wait but isn’t. The thing that typically satisfies our appetite during void periods like this is the promotional material that continues to hype us up for the film.
Lego is a big part of that, specifically when it comes to Star Wars. No two entities are more randomly tied together than Lego and Star Wars, and that’s the best possible thing right now for fans starved for anything they can get about The Last Jedi.
This past weekend saw a slew of Lego leaks regarding upcoming sets for The Last Jedi, some more subtle than others. While many were zeroed in on the ship sets, a few detailed oriented fans noticed that a throwaway graphic seemingly revealed our first look at old man Luke Skywalker.
Here’s the photo, which links together the prequels and the new sequels with Lego mini figures.
The most interesting thing about this is that last section, with Luke. This is the first time we’ve seen a ‘grey Jedi’ version of Luke, which leads us all to believe that will be what the official mini figure ends up looking like.
What’s also interesting about this is the core group of characters being flaunted. Anakin, Padme and Obi-Wan were all very closely linked together int he prequels, with Anakin and Padme producing Luke and Leia — featured with Obi-Wan in the next set of characters. It’s no coincidence that Luke and Leia are featured with Rey, as the baton is being passed to the next generation and the next star of the franchise.
It doesn’t give us any hints on Rey’s parentage — unless she’s some bastard child of The Force, which is franchise killing levels of profound stupidity. What is does do is highlight who the main characters of the next film will be, which is sure to get any Star Wars fan even more excited for December.
