8. Ninjago Temple of Airjitsu – 2,028 pieces
It’s time to begin your ninja training in the lush mountain hideaway known as the Temple of Airjitsu, from LEGO’s Ninjago collection. There are all kinds of ways to train and meditate here. Build the training room to practice your best ninja moves; take some quiet time in the study; or stir up some trouble at the Smuggler’s Market. At the end of the day, perform a shadow play using the spinning shadow theater that really lights up. Whatever you do, however, do it with friends. 12 of them, to be exact; this set comes with all the main Ninjago heroes, including Lloyd, Kai, Jay, Zane, Cole, Nya, Wu, Misako, Dareth, Postman, Jesper and Claire.
I’ve never been a Ninjago fan, but I have to say that I absolutely love the design of the Temple of Airjitsu. The architecture, the colors, everything that draws on Oriental culture is so beautiful. I also like the variety of locations within the Temple. Training to be a ninja is not just about physicality, after all, but a healthy mind and spirit, as well. Finally, all the little details such as the weapons and the books bring an extra spark of life to the set.
The Temple of Airjitsu is currently sold out on the official LEGO online store, but you can still find it in physical LEGO stores and wherever Ninjago sets are sold for $199.99.
