Marvel is taking over Comic-Con in San Diego, going as far as to feature a 7-foot tall Lego statue of Chris Hemsworth’s Thor.
Fanboys and fangirls all over the world are descending on San Diego for Comic-Con, and all is right in the world. It’s truly one of the best weekends of the year, as the world gets a better look at the things to come in the year ahead as far as geekdom is concerned.
Of course, Marvel is always a big draw at Hall H — the largest and most popular panel halls of the entire convention. If you’re in the business of being the hottest commodity at Comic-Con, then Hall H is the place to be. Marvel is usually king and the allure is extending well beyond a simple panel.
To celebrate the next huge Marvel release, Lego and Marvel have constructed a gigantic Thor statue made entirely out of bricks.
Entertainment Weekly has released the first images of the giant statute, and it looks marvelous.
Spider-Man Homecoming is the most recent Marvel release but Comic-Con is all about looking ahead to what is next. That means Thor: Ragnarok is the belle of the ball and the giant Lego statute is really of no surprise.
The best part about this is that everyone can enjoy the statute. With Lego set leaks, we often have certain elements of the plot spoiled to some degree. This is just a badass statue made of Lego for all Comic-Con attendees to enjoy. There’s nothing about it that we don’t already know from the trailers, which means it’s a rare spoiler-free landmark for those lucky enough to attend Comic-Con to seek out in what little free time they might have bouncing from panel to panel.
Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3rd and marks the final 2017 release for Marvel.
