09. Slave I

Look familiar anyone? It’s a slightly more colorful version of Slave I, but without Jango Fett. And I’ve looked at a picture of the actual jet, and this creator did a fantastic job. First, let’s talk about size. If the people are any indication, this spaceship must be huge! How many Legos do you think it took to make something so big? My guess is a couple hundred? At least? Those people are tiny compared to the spaceship.

While I know that lego colors don’t come in the rusted versions that the spaceship Slave I looked like, I still love that it’s a lot brighter and newer than the original. It’s like it got a fresh coat of paint! They did a great job using the green to show the shadow of the lighting, rather than a darker gray, and of course the red to show what was originally worn.

The wings at the top are my favorite part. It looks like most of the design ideas came with how to make the wings and how to get them to stand out. This is just a perfect replica of the ship, and even bigger and better, in my opinion!
