The UCS Millennium Falcon was revealed today by Lego and we already have a detailed breakdown of how it will look assembled.

We still have to wait until October 1 to get our hands on the upcoming UCS Millennium Falcon set, but someone already has.

Two Lego designers have unboxed the UCS Millennium Falcon and showed off the constructed model. There’s a lot to digest but the overall knee-jerk review is that you’d better start saving up now to buy this thing on the first day of release.

Check out the full breakdown, including confirmed box art, below:

This is not a matter of want, so much as it is a need. Here are some initial thoughts:

  • Holy crap this thing is massive. They weren’t kidding when it was said a small dolly would be needed to transport the box.
  • The removable panels are legit.
  • Being able to see the inside of the Falcon and construct the interior is a clutch part of this set.
  • Also, the fact that you can apparently swap out the satellite dishes between Original Trilogy and Nu-Trilogy is really cool.

We also saw that the box art has been confirmed from what we discovered yesterday. Photos of the supposed box started popping up all over the place showing the UCS Millennium Falcon against the backdrop of Cloud City.

Not only was this confirmed here, but so too was the theory that this would be an evergreen version of the Falcon. The interchangeable satellite dishes mean that no matter which of the trilogies you like, you’ll be able to have a version of the Millennium Falcon that fits the bill.

The next thing to worry about here is price, as that is so far unconfirmed by Lego. Given the over 7,000 piece brick count, it’s not going to be a cheap deal. After seeing the quasi-unboxing of this thing, though, it’s going to take a hefty price tag to scare us off from wanting to buy it as soon as we can.
