Lego announced its massive UCS Millennium Falcon set last week, but when will builders be able to get their hands on it early?
It’s an exciting time to love both Star Wars and Lego. Last week saw the first wave of The Last Jedi merchandise hit store shelves and we also saw our first look at the massive UCS Millennium Falcon.
The 7,000-plus piece set has Lego fans in a frenzy, and we’re now less than a month away from being able to buy it. As is the case when we have to wait for something, people are wondering if and how the UCS Millennium Falcon can be purchased early.
Right now it doesn’t sound like there will be a pre-sale date. That could all change — and likely will — as we get closer to the release date. Before tickets go on sale for major sporting events or giant concerts, there is usually a way for some sort of partner (usually a credit card company) to allow early access to its members.
That might not be the case here, but this release of the UCS Millennium Falcon is being treated like one of those events so it’s possible we could see something creep up at the last minute. Our ear is to the ground so we will keep you posted.
As for everything else with this set, we heard everything short of a pre-sale date in the days after the UCS Millennium Falcon was confirmed. The price is just a little under where we were predicting it would fall and could be much more or much less than what you were expecting.
The retail tag for this set is $799, plus tax (and shipping if you order from the store). The release date was always going to be October 1, so that’s not so much new information as it is further confirmation of already well-known data.
