The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part will be released in 2019. But there are some details we already know thanks to the first movie.

The LEGO brand goes well behind just the little yellow building blocks that we have all come to love. In fact, they are more than just plastic products with bright colors and hours of entertainment. The brand has expanded into movies, video games and much more. Years ago, fans were introduced to The LEGO Movie, a movie that followed the beloved figures in their own world.

Now, it’s time for a sequel. The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part has been announced to be released in 2019, but there are a few details that we are still missing. The movie is set five years after everything was awesome, and the citizens are facing a brand new threat.

Even though it sounds adorable, the citizens will deal with LEGO DUPLO invaders from outer space. They are causing trouble, causing havoc on everything as they try to rebuild. Could this be big vs. small rather than good vs. evil?

The current release date is set for February 8, 2019, which isn’t that far away. It’s less than three months away, so it could be time to watch the first movie as a refresher. It’s also a great Christmas idea, as you can give a movie ticket to someone, who absolutely loves the toys and The LEGO Movie.

We know that Margot Robbie, Jonah Hill, Alison Brie, Chris Pratt, Elizabeth Banks, Stephanie Beatriz, Channing Tatum, Tiffany Haddish, Nick Offerman, Charlie Day, Will Arnett and Arturo Castro have all been cast in the movie, providing voices to the beloved characters.

Will you be watching the movie in theaters or will you wait until you can watch at home with your kids?
