Ninjago is one of LEGO’s product lines. It has become a huge success even though it is only seven years old. Here’s what you need to know.

If you are more of a traditional LEGO player, you may not have heard of Ninjago. Or you may just have heard of it because you have children who simply love LEGO and want to play with Ninjago all the time. Well, the Ninjago products aren’t exactly new anymore. They were introduced in 2011 and captured a brand new audience.

The subject of this line is all about ninjas (hence Ninja-Go), dragons, snakes, and martial arts. The design takes a focus on the martial arts element that seems to be missing from traditional LEGO pieces. It’s currently available and the company continues to create products for those who really enjoy this line. Needless to say, it has become a huge hit.

There are 262 sets to date under this line with a list of notable characters: Lloyd, Cole, Jay, Zane, Kai, Nya, Master Wu and Lord Garmadon. This line is the first to be based on a ninja, since the Castle line which was discontinued in 2000.

The building blocks actually follow a story, inspired by the TV series Ninjago: Masters of Spinjitzu. Despite a brief shutdown, the line was restored with the feedback from fans.

The line has been so successful that there’s also a movie called The LEGO Ninjago Movie. The movie takes on a new spin from the television series. The series also inspired a number of video games, all published by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment with the first being LEGO Battles: Ninjago.

If your child is more of a bookworm, the Ninjago universe can also be found here. There are a total of 12 graphic novels that were primarily inspired by the TV series.

If you are looking for Christmas ideas for your kids or family members, there are 262 sets in the Ninjago line, so there are plenty of choose from.
